I was always planning to be an Accountant because of my passion for figures that I realised at an early age. I was always the smart kid who could solve numerical problems with such speed and ease.

I mostly go to my clients

What do you love most about accounting?
The value that I give to clients in running their business finances makes me feel satisfied.
Would you recommend accounting as a career for school-leavers, and why?
Absolutely
What qualities should South African business people be looking for in their accountant?
Integrity, technical ability, honesty, trustworthy and speed in attending to issues.
What is the biggest challenge facing accountants today?
Diminishing revenues caused by unqualified people masquerading as Accountants and charging ridiculously low fees.
What aspects of accounting do you focus on most?
Financial, management, audit and accounting software

SMME clients who have passion but without a full time finance function.
How far away from your premises is your furthest client?
100km
From your accounting experience, if you could cite one of the biggest reasons SME's in SA fail, what would it be?
They don't keep proper financial and statutory records and therefore find themselves in a catch 22 situation in which they can not plan for future needs.
What accounting software do you like best?
Pastel
What other software, online services or apps do you use?
Microsoft AX Dynamics, SAP.
Do you think the coming wave of automation in the next few years will steal some accounting jobs and why/why not?
It won't steal jobs for those who adapt.
What is your opinion on Bitcoin?
I support and think it's great as technology is moving very fast.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Watching and playing sports.
What is the most interesting thing on your bucket list?
Growing my practice and making it a franchise business.
